Słynny klasy Rolex Fastnet Race niezmiennie pozostaje legendą. W tym roku start w tych zawodach był jeszcze bardziej prestiżowy, ponieważ były to już 50-te regaty wokół słynnej skały Fastnet. Teraz flota startuje w Cowes na Wyspie Wight, a kończy wyścig we francuskim porcie Cherbourg.

Francois Gabart i jego załoga ustanowili nowy rekord tej trasy – 1 dzień, 8 godzin, 38 minut i 27 sekund. Niewiele ponad godzinę później na mecie zameldował się drugi wielki trimaran „Banque Populaire” dowodzony przez Armela Le Cléac’h’a. W klasie IMOCA triumfował Charlie Dalin na swoim zwodowanym zupełnie niedawno jachcie „Macif”. Klasa IMOCA była niezwykle licznie reprezentowana podczas 50. Rolex Fastnet Race. Na starcie stanęło bowiem aż 29 jachtów tej klasy.

W regatach w sumie wystartowało 430 jachtów bijąc kolejny rekord frekwencji. W tej stawce żeglowało sporo żeglarzy z Polski. Pod naszą banderą znów dobrze pokazała się załoga „WindWhisper” dowodzona przez Pablo Arrarte.
Aktualnie nasza załoga jest na 2 miejscu w swojej klasie IRC Super Zero i na 4 w generalnej klasyfikacji IRC Overall. Czekamy na ostateczne wyniki regat!
Wszyscy przeszli ostry morski sprawdzian, bo już na starcie porywy wiatru dochodziły do 30-stu węzłów przy dosyć wzburzonym morzu. Każdy kto dotarł do mety może mieć ogromną satysfakcję, bo udział w tym słynnym klasyku to wielka pieczęć dumy w żeglarskim CV.
